I have a chromosomal translocation

In other words, an abnormal growth near my tailbone. It's been there for a long time, but after a misstep on a ladder, I fell backwards on it and it got bigger and very sore. From the size of my pinky fingernail to bigger than my thumb.

Having surgery on Monday the 5th, and they tell me I'll be out of work for 6-8 weeks!!!!

I have plenty of sick time built up, but I'm not excited about it.

A buddy told me "People have been telling you they were going to ream you a new asshole, and finally someone is going to do it."

yay

The hospital is going to ream me one, the doctor is going to ream me one and I'm sure the anesthesiologist will ream one too.

Not that I'm a prolific blogger, but I'll probably be down and out for a while. I do hope I'll be able to keep up on reading my favs.

I think they call that a tail.

;-)

I'm sorry to hear about your cornhole, Bad Bob. :-( Do blog when you can to let us know how the surgery goes.

Now that's funny! The "tail" is mostly inside tho, it's still just a bump.

So, here is the only dr. humor I can think of...
What's the difference between and oral and rectal thermometer?

Drum Roll Please...

The taste.

Yikes, I hope your surgery goes off without a hitch and you're back to the skies soon. I just surfed in from another blog...not sure where..
I took just over 2 years of flight lessons and did all but my solo work before "taking a break" for a while. I miss it more than anything. I did solo, but it's just not my time yet...I need to get over my fear of turbulence.

I'll be back...you have a very interesting blog.

Thanks BB and Stacie for your support. Doc says it all went well, but I think they always tell you that. I had a wreck 9 yrs ago that broke both ankles, a knee, shattered my pelvis and split my sternum. Other than the bump on the head, I was ok. I think the pain after this surgery was worse than all that. Must have been a shock thing with the accident.
I'm flat on my back and it's difficult to type with the laptop sitting on my chest.

I think I'll get the catheter out tomorrow. That will free up a lot of movement (physical).

Drs. don't find my joke very funny, but most of the nurses do. About 10 different people would come by to ask my name etc..and what procedure I was having done, and I finally said I'm here to get reamed a new asshole. I think Roto-Rooter would have been less painful.
Gotta go take some more demerol, so I'll try to check back tomorrow.

glad to hear it went well, and I'm cracking up at your joke. Dr's don't have a sense of humour!
Take care.

Um...I got to thinking about that wreck you mentioned that happened 9 years ago...that didn't happen to be an airplane wreck did it? Cuz that won't really do a thing to alleviate my turbulence fears! ;)

Nope it was a head on collision with a drunk driver.

Surgery went OK, but I had to go to the ER that night for a catheter. They took it out today, and it looks like I'll be going back to the ER for another one tonight.

Bad Bob, I'm thrilled to hear that you're alive and that your anus is still intact, but I'm sad to hear that you're in so much pain and have to deal with a piss bag.
