The Sun-N-Fun Fly-in was not.

Working at a school where Spring break never coincides with Sun-N-Fun in Lakeland, FL, I have only been able to attend once.

In this country it is the second largest gathering of homebuilt airplanes, certified airplanes and a fabulous airshow that goes on for days.

This year was tragic for many people. A tornado, microburst or something with incredible winds tore through the airport one afternoon, destroying planes, displays, buildings but hopefully not dreams.

My good friend lost his airplane when it pulled the tie downs out of the ground and flipped it over on top of another plane. My girlfriend said that if that ever happened to me, I would probably never recover emotionally. She is probably right. Another friend agreed and said anyone who can tell you how many rivets are in their airplane has more than a casual bond with it. ( I honestly don't know exactly how many rivets are in my plane, but there are over 9,000, and 278 hand driven rivets in each wing spar).

Blue skies Tony. I know the replacement plane you said you were going to buy is not the same quality as the one you just lost. I also know that it will be up to par soon.

wow...how do you get a plane to roll over. Does it sit...and just what kind of treats do you give a plane?

Kidding aside...I really feel for all those people that lost so very much...some their lives.
(((HUGS))) and good thought energy going their way.

Later mister. xxx

Bob, are you out of school for the summer yet? Hope so :)

Kids are not out of school until June 10. I happen to work year 'round which is a good thing in some ways (12 pay checks) and not so good in others (need more time off to recuperate). Teachers work until June 16. School is a very nice place to be when everyone is gone....
